And again a summer vacation in Fiss.
As always we enjoyed our stay in "Haus Sunnbichl".
The weather was very good. High temperatures and it was mostly dry. An ocassional shower in the evening or night.
I think we were very lucky, it was one of the most beautiful periods this summer in Austria.

Pictures 1, 2 and 3

The Zammer Lochputz. A cleft mer Landeck/Zams. The cleft is accessible by a path made of metal and attached to the walls of the cleft. The stairs has more than 200 steps. You always see the water below your feet through the metal grid.
A fountain pushed higher than 50 metres by natural waterpower at the entrance of the cleft. You see how the path is "glued" to the walls

In de second picture you see the fast running water below your feet

The third picture shows the cleft where the path ends. At this point you enter a tunnel and after that it's through the woods downhill to the entrance.

Ladis

Ladis has a 13th century castle Laudegg. We never visited the castle before (only on wednesdays). Well it's old, interesting and you have nice views from there. Below the castle is a small lake, which looks beautiful on a beautiful day.

Zwölferkopf (2596 metres).
From the station of the Schönjochbahn (2440 m) you can walk to the top of the Zwölferkop (2596 m). The path is very, very steep.

The pictures show a panoramic view into the Urgtal and Oberinntal direction Landeck and in the second picture (halfway down) the station of Schönjochbahn, the restaurant and the top of the Schönjöchl (2500 m).

Innsbruck.
Schloss Ambras.
Situated in the hills above Innsbruck, the Castle of Ambras is one of the most important sights of the city. Its cultural and historical importance is closely connected with Archduke Ferdinand II and was a residence of his from 1563 to 1595. In the lower part of the castle there are two rooms containing arms and armor, on the first floor a valuable art collection and in the upper part of the castle, the bathroom of Ferdinand's wife Philippine Welser. The Spanish hall between the lower and upper part of the castles is a notable example of German Renaissance architecture and is adorned with frescoes on the walls.
In the pictures the upper part of the castle with the Spanish hall, in the second picture an example from the arms and armor section
