Conductive couplers in non prepared wagons
|
|
Most of the passenger trains have interior lights.
I use conducting couplers, so I need only one pick-up shoe for a train.
More sliders on one train may cause problems, especially the ones on the last wagon.
You can change even the wagons that are not prepared for conducting couplers.
Amongst others I modified a passengertrain with 7 4-axle Württemberger wagons that way.
Instead of the standard Märklin bars I started to use the RTS conducting short couplers.
Below you see several pictures of the modified Württemberger cars.
I use the standard Märklin interior lights.
Cut off the slider.
Soldered some extra wires to the slider's base.
Putted the end of a wire in the socket.
Pushed RTS couplers into sockets.
Of course you have to connect the two sockets.
That's all
You won't notice the wires.
